With changes to the operational processes within NZ Police, the iconic Mt station was decommissioned, with a smaller more centralised satellite station found for the Mt Police personal.

The new Hull Rd site was designed to accomodate the administration side of policing, as the Tauranga station caters to the regions custody functions. This, in turn, required less offices and public processing spaces for the Mt Station. Compact, yet open plan, this new station reflects NZ Police’s new ‘transparency’ culture.
